U21’s Final Word

Such a Disappointing night in Newtowncashel

_21u21

Our under 21’s were beaten by 13 points.
Something needs to change

When people around the county sling dirt at Louth GAA it is usually because we haven’t won anything at minor or under21 level in years, decades!
They wouldn’t be wrong, it is a major crux of where we are going wrong.
It will also continue to occur until something is done about it.

However, we are producing the Talent, that is not the problem.
Last night we had the most talented players on the pitch But we were still beaten out the gate by 13 points!

Future

That is why I was so disappointed coming home last night.

Maybe I’m looking at it wrong, the Louth management team certainly did.
Talented players on their own are not good enough anymore and that was the case last night.

At this age group time after time especially this past three years it hasn’t been good enough.

We are not cultivating the talent the clubs have come up with. That is not right.

We are and were tactically inept last night and against Carlow.

As a result we continue to lose and end up with dispirited performances like last night.

To win at this level, management needs to focus on producing a more rounded player and team ethic rather than relying on individual talent to paper over the cracks.

Until that happens, we’ll be exiting in the early rounds

every.single.year.

Our Players deserves better.

Thanks
