Really tough team to pick this weekend!

team5

here it is…

Defence

Talented young goalkeeper David Anderson has a soccer background and his shot stopping stood to him against Stabannon. Finbarrs Bryan Sharkey helped himself to 1-1 not bad from a tight marking cornerback. Darren O’Hanlon kept the shackles on  Cian Doyle not an easy task but he did it. Clogher’s defensive anchor (excuse the maritime pun) quite simply is Pop Rath.

Middle

Two very talented wing backs this week although they played a more forward role last weekend.
Ben McLaughlin from the O’Mahonys and  Eoin Moore from the Raths got goals and bags of energy and are worth a look at a higher level.
Gers and former Louth Man Gerry Hoey needs to be current Louth man next season.

The Marys are in a semi final for the first time since 2003 RJ Callagahan in the engine room is one of the main reasons.  PK is coming into form at exactly the right time worryingly so for everyone else!

Forwards

Stephen Fisher is also finding his groove after early season injury for the O’Mahonys he’s a big player for them. Clogher are finding a greater spread of scores this year and Liam Shevlin is chief instigator of this. Ruairi Moore is like a wrecking ball for the O’Raghallaighs thundering into games and on the scoreboard, form of his life.
On the scene a long time now Mark McGeown hasn’t lost any of this pace either he was the difference for the Clans in their replay win. I  said it before and I’ll say it again William Woods needs to be on the senior squad whether he gets a Garda escort every night to and from training it just needs to happen. Once a scoring machine always a scoring machine. Step right up Ardee’s Darren Clarke can he fire them to a win over the Pats?

notable

Where do I begin? there is just loads!
Evan Keenan Marys, Conor Reilly Mitchells, Karl White and Eoin O’Connor Pats, Emmet Kirk Brides, Aidan Shevlin Stabannon, John Doyle Finbarrs, JOBser SOM, Ben Rogan Raths and Pepe Smith Clogher.

Have you named a half back line yet where the players all actually played half back and not half forward?

He scored a penalty 4 frees and a point from play but I’ve said it before he makes the Pats tick that is what Brian is referring to.

It’s a tough job Brian! I thought I got away with it naming him in the ´notable mentions!

Dan, your playing politics, trying to keep the whole county happy, Karl white scores 1.5 in Senior Champ. qtr. final and hes not named on the team..

Darren O’Hanlon did not man mark Cian Doyle, it was Kevin Toner who was put on him.
