Here’s the preview

From the outside it looks like it can only be a Clare win!

The fact they trashed Wexford by 14 points while we’ve been licking our wounds all week from a 9 drubbing in Enniskillen makes it hard to argue against but I will.

Allow me to dispell this outlook by reading between the lines somewhat.

Firstly, here’s some background to Clares big win last week

They were at home and as we know it’s hard to get away from home in the league.
Clare’s goalie Hayes made 2 good saves in the first half when the game was in the balance.
Just after half time Wexford’s midfielder Paddy Byrne got a black card
then Ciaran Lyng head butted and got a straight red.
Clare controlled the game until the finish with the extra man sweeping everything up.
Complete momentum swing to Clare and we all know Momentum is a killer this time of year.

So, in reality we have nothing to fear.

Sure, they are a good side but  theyr’re not Kerry or Dublin!

We’re at home and our players have been completely written off.

After the Fermanagh game Kelly has gone back to basics and we should be a better side.

Verdict
In Clare they think they are gonna come into Drogheda and beat us by 6 points!??!

Sunday is the first of 5 home games for us in 2015!
4 in the league and one in the Championship.
It’s paramount we get a good start to the year in Drogheda what better way than our first win this season!

As fans, we need to get out in force and roar the lads on if ever they need us it’s now.

I’ve convinced myself we can get something out of this game and with some luck and really hard work we will.

Interesting Fact
Since we last played Clare in the 2006 Tommy Murphy cup there is only two players still involved.
Newtown Blues duo Colm Judge and Hugh McGinn

Things to expect
-Decky Specials part deux
-A hurley stick or two floating about
-Clare’s finest, the banter panther Marty Morrissey in attendance
-A few Gally wonder saves!
