2 draft of 1/4 finals SHOCK NIGHT

Glyde and Clans kick off tonight’s second set of Quarter finals

The Clans were the most impressive team I’ve seen in the IFC this season.
I don’t know what that means exactly but they could be the most complete side in this grade.
The big question is, do Glyde have a sting in the tail they already proved they do by getting this far. Their players have experience of senior Championship semi finals that doesn’t just leave you.

Key Match UP
Trevor O’Brien/Paul Crewe
Trevor has been Glyde’s main man for the past decade and still is a classy operator will his pace cause Crewezer problems? who himself has been in fine form this season.

Verdict:
Going to be quite short here and say Clans all the way.
Look out for Billy Smith and Paul Martin For the Clans.

Result:Glyde rolled back the years winning 2-7 to 0-7

Second match of the night see’s H-town and the Joes do Battle and battle it will be.

Hunterstown turned them over in the league and the Joes have dropped off their Division 2 perch recently. Hunterstown have adjusted to the intermediate grade quite well and it is an achievement in its self making the quarters especially when you look at previous years junior champions. However they will not want to rest on their laurels now.

Key Match UP
David Mernagh/Keith Brennan
Mernagh at half back left half to be exact for the Joes a powerful player and drives the Joes forward. Brennan will have to be on his toes to curb the Dromiskin man’s influence while putting him on the back foot going forward himself.

Verdict:
This game really could go either way as both teams possess the forwards to keep either team in the game with little or no possession. So maybe the better defence might be the deciding factor. I’m going to stick my neck out and tip outsiders Hunterstown.

A Freak Result:  Humiliation for Hunterstown 8:13 to 8 points win for the Freakishly good Joes.
