Customary scouting report

Qbuildupscouting

ahead of the game on Saturday evening at 7pm

League Form:

They finished 4th in Division 4.
Winning 3 games this season beating Waterford, London and Carlow (we couldn’t even beat them this season) means they’ve won more games than us this season.
Worringly, they had more good fortune against Leinster opposition. They drew with table toppers Offaly and Longford. Gulp.

Okay, Wicklow beat them but their only other loss was Antrim at home.

What I take from that is, they are a dogged outfit if you beat them you certainly earn your victory.

Last day out:

Connacht Championship, Galway beat them at home the same day Westmeath beat us. The score that day was 1-13 to 8 so double scores. However, You have to ask yourself, how would we fare against Galway???

Star Players

Luckily the best player Leitrim have produced in 20 years is plying his trade in Boston. that man is Emlyn Mulligan. He seems to fancy his chances too by the looks of his twitter.

Other wise Leitrim’s best player is DCU and Sigerson Cup winner Donal Wyrnn

The Gentle Giant played full back last season but can play anywhere down the centre. He could start inside on the edge of the square or easily roam out the field. He needs to be well monitored where eveer he goes potential difference between the two sides.

Shane Moran is an up an coming midfielder

His high fielding and presence around the middle could cause us issues.

Captain Sean McWeeney

He was corner forward last season and has been a revelation at wing back this season. Well able to come forward and pop over a point.

Mindset

In other years we would take Leitrim for granted but eh not this season.

I’ll leave with some good news, centre back Gary Reynolds is a key player and is out so that leaves a massive gap in the heart of Leitrim’s defence we need and can exploit! We know we have the forwards, we know we are in for a dogfight, we know where we are and we know how much a win would mean to the county. Knowing this ahead of Saturday night actually gives us the best chance of a win.
