A few people have asked for it and here it is

week1

My team of Week 1
First off ignore the dodgy jerseys! and remember its only abit of fun!

defence

Defence

Smart Kickout and Cleansheet that’s high on my Goalkeeping Manual, so look out for Rian Hand going forward in Kilkerely’s search for the Seamus Flood.
Cian Lynch and the Kevins could have a lot to say in this junior championship. Conor Byrne kept the O’Mahonys forward line quiet and Big Crawley under wraps too tough ask but the did it. John Bingham wasn’t available for Louth this season but his strength at the back will give the Marys a serious chance as the summer goes on.

The Middlethird

Gary O’Hare remember him? yep, well he put in a towering performance at the heart of the Naps defence in their shock victory over the fechins! Brian Fitzpatrick is key for the Plunketts turnaround this season, his high energy and defensive cover gives the Mell men a solid platform. Derek Crilly played on the wing for the Gaels why is he wing back on this team? well if you seen the Gaels play this year positions mean nothing. The former county mans versatility shows exactly what Louth is missing.
Like wise  could be said about Ronan Carroll,  central to the Marys good form this season.  The other Ronan in midfield is Ronan Grufferty, he was exceptional and his scores were the main reason the Glen Emmets came back from the dead to beat Dunleer.

week1forward

Forward line

Such the high standard of forward play this weekend. It seems to get in this forward line you have to score a minimum of 2 goals!
Gea McSorley’s pace is devastating it really is, Paul Carrie dealt with the scoring responsibility of the departed Ryan Burns quite easily it seems and The Finbarrs have unearthed another goal scoring fullforward Jack Butterly.
Ben Rogan showed pace and cool finishing in the Raths surprise victory over Mattock. Conor Earley not only is a good target man to have on the edge of the square he can also take you on and when he does you’re in trouble.
When you are the top scoring for your clubs forward line that has Shane Lennon you are doing well, Louth minor Tadhg McEneaney continues to make waves.

Jarleth Lyons or Aidan Marks were the men in heart of Naps defence – Gary Ohare injured and just returned after year at university abroad. !

My sources must have got mixed up Aidan Marks!

I’m sorry but barry Flanagan from the raths definitely deserves to be in that team. Himself and Ben Rogan single handedly destroyed collon . Two players who deserve and should be on the louth team.

Gary o Hare played last 5 minutes of the game
