?? The Joe Show

in County

I want to get this out of the way as early in the week as possible.

so we can forget about him and move on.

As we all know and have been made well aware of the fact Joe Sheridan has made his comeback for Meath.

His return has been inflated beyond belief everywhere we look. Like some sort of celebrity who has entered the jungle or about to join the big brother house.

Besides who he is, the main attraction around his comeback is the fact that he is reappearing between the sticks as a goalkeeper! Bush tucker trial-esque I know, but apparently for real.

Joe is a forward and was a good one at that and he’s had his day. Sure it’s seven years now since 2010. So to see him dragged through all this early season rigmarole is a bit much.

It smacks of desperation on his part, He is their fourth choice goalkeeper for god sake!
In modern day inter county football when so many lads choose to walk away should he be commended for still wanting to play for his county?

I find the whole thing bizarre that Andy McEntee their new manager would give himself the hassle of all this scrutiny and pissing off 40 other good club goalkeepers in the meantime.
Maybe he is he just using Joe to absolve himself of some attention the high profile job brings.

I don’t expect him to start or even make the squad on Sunday if he does, make of that what you will…

Right, let’s move on shall we? and enjoy the rest of the weeks build up!

Currently third choice, seeing as Paddy hasn’t made an appearance.

I’m over it…whole point of the piece.

4th choice by the way

1. Paddy O’Rourke
2. Robbie Burlingham
3. Jack Hannigan
4. Joe Sheridan

FYI: Joe was a goalkeeper, who converted to a full forward. He plied his trade in the forward position and now wants to return to where he started out his journey. He has been brought in to provide backup, as Andy said he wants to have three keepers and Joe is taking the opportunity. He should be commended! Most keepers wouldn’t accept a call up to be the third choice keeper. Now get over 2010 and live in the present!

See you Sunday in Pairc Tailtean!

here here coming from a Meath man I must agree with you on this nonsense. McEntee was brought in to cut away all the nonsense. GG
