Hectic weekend of Junior quarters and Champion elimantions

Heres the latest (emphasis on late) team of the week!

Defence

Philipstown Goalkeeper David Smith was the match winner as his penalty save made sure the young side advanced.

Kilkerley kept the Pats out and Corner back Barra McCarthy helped keep a clean Sheet. Louth panelist in 2016 David Quigley gave a solid performance for Roche as they went down to Tullyallen. Dunleer have a fine young prospect at full back in Jason Torris

Stephen Murphy home from Oz and provided Glen Emmets a much needed boost. A tower of Strength at the back for the Seans Peter Osbourne has been influential to their great run this year. Another Dunleer defender and this time it’s Niall Lennon the corner forward squeezed into my defence notched up 1-3 the exact winning margin over the Mals.

Midfield

With Cian Callan out Sean Crosbie had to step it up for the Kevins and he very much did so. Trojan workhorse around the middle, James Fagan got his reward of a quarter final place for the emmets of Kilkerley.

Forwards

Each week Lann Leire possess another player who steps up, a good sign; this week it was Liam Callan. Ronan Grufferty took advantage, when all eyes were on the bear on the square. Kevin Carroll is a quality operator, always has been, he relished the local derby brought the best out in him.

The Seans Tony Kelly is unmarketable at times. Shane Lennon Sacrificed his game for the good of his side on Sunday. While Conor Grimes was just awesome and will take some stopping.
