Carlow build up:The opposition

by louthandproud on March 9, 2016

in County

Carlow next, our championship opponents.

Do we keep that in mind on Sunday?

There is an interesting gauge to our next opponents.

Carlow have played every team we have, a week later.

This repeat pattern of fixtures gives us a fair idea how they compare to us.

We played London, the following weekend they played London and scrapped past them.

Waterford beat them.

And last week they beat Wicklow by 3 points after we beat them by 10.

So going on results along we are a better team than them.

One’s to watch

Bad timing for us is the fact we face the best midfield partnership in Division 4 next.

Brendan Murphy the former Sydney Swan and massive Carlow minor that ended a good Louth teams chances to play in a Leinster minor final.thats him above getting sent off in that game.

He’s still massive and his partner Sean Gannon is pound for pound the best midfielder in this division of not Ireland!
Very slight in stature but a very good reader of the game and can take a score too. he scored a Hat-trick in their great London escape.

So if those two provide the platform, up front Darragh Foley applies the finishing touches. image
Foley is the man in form for the barrowsiders. He kicked 10points last week at full forward.
Normally a midfielder he’ll give Paddy Reilly his toughest assignment all year.

So this triangle trio is where the game wil be won or lost this Sunday and come the summer too.

If anything we have to take down nothing but notes on Carlow ahead of the championship showdown.
