Carlingford Explained

How lucky are we to possess Carlingford on door step? It’s easily one of the most beautiful parts of world and if you are a Louth person reading this and you haven’t been, shame on you!
The cobbled streets of this medieval village make Carlingford cosy and very welcoming and I haven’t even mentioned the people!

What Carlingford has to offer

The local pubs and restaurants are constantly bursting with gorgeous food, atmosphere and character.

Right in the heart of the Cooley Peninsula, slap bang between Belfast and Dublin, right on Carlingford Lough, sheltered by Slieve Foy Mountain and steeped in History Folklore.

The location calls you to explore their magnificence on foot, on the golf courses, on horseback or cycling with a huge variety of looped walks and bicycle routes available. Local adventure centres offer you rock climbing, abseiling canoeing, kayaking, sailing and windsurfing in the waters of Carlingford Lough and the Irish Sea.
