It’s up!
Defence
Survive and advance is the Mochas game this year and Conor Ryan held his concentration in goals in the second half to top the group. Clans have found a gem in Ola Olajabu, the strong running corner back.
The Irelanders may have been beaten but Ciaran Murray can’t be blamed, county material perhaps? Dreadnots Anthony Williams really wants to win the Joe Ward this year. Two ex county men still got it. Peter McGinnity and Ronan Greene.
The Blues got off the mark and the impressive Conor Brannigan led them there not at 6 but wore number 6 and 6 on my team. Confused yet.
Midfield
Young Ryan Ward dominated the middle for Hunterstown on Sunday afternoon along with Tony McKenna. While Shane Kennedy provided the platform for Dunleer’s win that shocked the junior Championship.
Forwards
The Kevins are a good young side and their leader is Cian Callan, look out for him. The Joes are through to the Quarters Conall Smyth helped them get there massively. The Mochs talisman Decky Byrne racked up a massive tally on Sunny Sunday.
Classy David Reid got the vital scores to push Mattock out of the group of death against the Clans. Late goal, but constant threat and outlet for Clogher was Richie Kirwan. We now know the Blues are a serious championship team this year thanks to Colm Judge.
