If you were at home watching it on Eirsport was it good viewing?
Talking Points from last nights game.

Systematic

Much has been talked about our system and defensive shape and I’ll not go on about it again, but it is worth pointing out that going forward we notched up 2-16 last night and kept a clean sheet. Jim and Burnsey inside worked but Going Forward Pepe made us tick. Picked up Eirsport man of the match too!

LynchPin

Bar one, Craig Lynch’s kick outs were assertively accurate. They put us firmly on the front foot against a hapless Laois side who could cope with them. Once the ball was kicked out our system took over from then on.

Half Back sublime

-Anthony Williams just keeps getting better and better he was my Man of the Match three points and his energy levels must be off the roof!
-Sweeper supreme Derek Maguire was back to influential self vital for this Louth team Although for a change his good performance was built more of a defensive shift rather than attacking.
-Number 6 on the night was debutant Liam Dullaghan, but you wouldn’t have known that from his temperament and level of performance. No fuss Outstanding.

Moore Please

Didn’t start all year Ruairi Moore raised a few eyebrows on the team sheet before the game, but he emphatically proved his worth on the night.

Got through a mountain of work, protected the ball, chipped in with a score and created the game clinching goal for Andy. 13 jersey is now firmly his.

Squad on Point

The squad is really strengthening now.

Due to suspension Declan Byrne didn’t even tog out he’s usually first name on the teamsheet.

The game was over with 20 mins to go meant our lads could pull up and Kelly was able to take lads off for our next game. Bevan Duffy deserves a special mention too. Superb on the night.

The squad is in a good place now and confidence is very high.

Longford Next

Laois were really poor Longford next day won’t be as bad.
However we’ll have a day extra recovery on our opponents and an opportunity to go and scout them out too.

Roll on next Sunday in Drogheda.

Build up on LouthandProud all week!
