After last weeks big win, we now have our First home game of 4 this Sunday.
Here’s my preview!
Up and Under
The more I think and look back on last Saturday the more I think of how well set up we were and how poor Laois were.
It was the perfect storm for us.
Everybody knew their role and worked their socks off and it really clicked going forward.
Laois were poor but we still had to take care of business and we did.
That is so encouraging because we are in for a serious test on Sunday afternoon.
It is by default our first real divisional test, since we won the Division 4 final in Croke Park.
They won’t fear us and we’ll be full of confidence come Sunday night we’ll either be up the table or under Longford.
(can’t see it being a draw.)
Fortress Drogheda?
Forget about last week lets remember the Dublin game.
Our greatest opposition was the pitch.
We couldn’t get our kick outs flowing and we couldn’t attack and build as fluidly as we did in Portlaoise why?
The Gaelic Grounds surface and dimensions thats why.
I’m not saying we can’t play well their under our system, but it doesn’t help.
Absolute blessing we got a game under our belts versus Dublin in the O’Byrne Cup final there.
The practice alone from that game will really stand to us.
Setting up at the back and finding our range between the posts.
Verdict
It has to be us.
Longford will be very very tough, a massive step up and they also won last weekend.
The area we’ll be really tested is our full back line they have some really good forwards.
Different style to Laois, very mobile, link up well and not reliant on one forward in particular.
Makes for a great contest.
Keeping momentum going from the start of the league is vital.
Getting a win in our first home game of four is crucial.
Team Reaction Updates
Louth go with the same team!
Expected after the team performance last week…Decky back makes our bench even stronger.
Could be needed too.
Reaction and updates on Longford team if it comes in, so stay tuned.
