Two Louth Teams in Leinster Action this weekend
The Plunketts Play Dublin Junior Runners Up Craobh Chiarain in Parenlls GAA Coolock 2.30pm Sunday
and
The Pats take a familar trip to O’Connor Park to face Offaly Champs Rhode 2.30pm Sunday
Part 1’s the run down on Craobh Chiarain and Part 2 tomorrow on Rhode
Craobh Chiarain
Colours: Maroon and Yellow
Manager: ‘Dottsie’
Based in Donnycarney. (There clus house is actually adjacent to Parnell Park)
They are a more well known as a Hurling Club competing in the Senior Championship.
They are eligible to play in this competition as runners up in Dublin because they were beaten by St Vincents B team.
Unfortunately for the Plunketts they possess some form going into this game winning a league match last week and having played and Defeated Amsterdam 2-18 to 1-9 in the preliminary round of this competition away in Maastricht. Who was the ref that day only our very own Stephen Johnson…So if I was a Plunketts man I’d be giving him a sneaky phonecall!
Two Dublin hurlers are their best players
Darren Kelly at Centre Back is their Rock, literally.
And
Well Known Dublin Hurler and former All-Star Alan McCrabbe on the Forty.
Other notable players Are Robbie Mahon the midfielder is also a dual player of note and their free-taker and Gary Kelly pacy individual.
Verdict:
The Plunketts are well able to beat this Dublin outfit but, my only hesitation is their inactivity since they won the Junior final the 14th of September about 6 weeks ago. They’ll look to Sean Brassil again for leadership, Robbie Brodigan in the middle of the park and the Matthews Brothers in defence in attack. If they do so they’ll be there or there abouts. Leinster Club is a funny old competition.
Part 2 Tomorrow
